Family sigil tattoo

We want to create a family sigil tattoo. I antiquate putting it on the back of my arm, ~5 cm tall.

We are looking to create a modern family sigil for a tattoo based on the sigils for my wife's last name, Cook, and my last name, French. We do not want the names on the sigil though. The traditional Cook sigil has three dogs (image attached), and we do too and that is the most important part. I included my attempt to modify the dogs ears in illustrator. It is a bit too cartoonish, but the ear variety represents our mutts well. Also the tongue in the original is a bit too much. We are not attached to the other aspects of the original sigil. We would also like to add a sea monster from my family crest (French) (file below). One sea monster (maybe at the top, instead of the knight) is fine. We are hoping for an ornate tail. We would also like it to say `currimus ut' (we run as one) somewhere. Simpler is generally better.
